Liberal Arts Online: Program Description

The online Liberal Arts Program (Humanities Option) at PCCC leads to an Associate in Arts Degree. This program provides students a well-rounded liberal arts education flexible enough to allow concentrations in a particular field of interest, or to explore new interests through electives.

The Humanities Option prepares those who want to major in history, economics, philosophy, politcal science, and religion, and who plan to transfer to four-year colleges. The program is ideal for those planning to enter pre-law or pre-med.

Graduates should be able to:
 

  • Communicate effectively in standard English and be proficient in math.
  • Use analytical and critical thinking skills to do research.
  • Understand the complex world of history and politics and be familiar with the basic concepts of social and natural science.
  • Gain aesthetic appreciation and maintain a lifelong interest in learning.
