Online Databases

The Library offers access to several full-text online databases, where you may search the periodical literature of many subject areas. You may then read, download, print, or email relevant articles. To enter a database, click on its logo. Passwords are required for off-campus access. Please contact the Library for details.

	Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe is recommended for finding news articles, and is also very useful for finding Business, Legal, Medical, and general Reference information.
	EBSCOHost includes a variety of general and subject-specific databases. Follow the link to see descriptions of each database, then select as many or as few as you wish for your search.
	GALE includes the following databases: Health Reference Center Academic Health Reference Center Academic contains articles on Fitness, Pregnancy, Medicine, Nutrition, Diseases, Public Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Alcohol and Drug abuse, HMOs, Prescription Drugs, etc. Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center is recommended for finding information on controversial social issues. It features viewpoint articles, topic overviews, full-text magazine, academic journal, and newspaper articles, primary source documents, statistics, images and podcasts, and links to Websites. Health & Wellness Resource Center Health & Wellness Resource Center is recommended for finding magazines, journals, newspapers, definitions, directories, and information on Fitness, Pregnancy, Medicine, Nutrition, Diseases, Public Health, Occupational Health and Safety, Alcohol and Drug abuse, Prescription Drugs, etc. Literature Resource Center GALE Literature Resource Center provides access to biographies, bibliographies, and critical analyses of authors from every age and literary discipline. Contemporary Authors Contemporary Authors by GALE provides complete biographical and bibliographical information and references on more than 120,000 U.S. and international authors.
	CQ Researcher, a weekly periodical, is an excellent resource for current events and socio-political topics. Each issue covers one particular topic in depth.
	The Scientific & Medical ART (SMART) Imagebase is a collection of 15,500+ high quality illustrations and animations depicting anatomy, physiology, surgery, diseases, conditions, trauma, embryology, histology, and other health science topics.
	OVID provides access to the LWW High Impact Medical Journal Collection (2005) as well as Medline (1966-present).
	Nature journals cover many areas of the biological and physical sciences. Click the logo for the main site, or select a specific journal:
	Oxford Music Online includes the full text of The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians (2nd ed), as well as The New Grove Dictionary of Opera and The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz (2nd ed). Includes links to audio files.
	Oxford Art Online provides access to the entire text of The Dictionary of Art, plus extensive image links and sophisticated search features.
	Wilson Biographies Plus Illustrated contains biographies, obituaries, and photographs from H.W. Wilson databases and reference books.
	Search over 30 databases, including Info Trac Custom Newspapers, American History Online, Health Source Nursing/Academic, ReferenceUSA, ¡Informe! (en español), and more. Library card required for home use.
