Welcome to the English as a Second Language Department at Passaic County Community College!
This is an academic program of English-language instruction for any immigrant, foreign student or visitor who would like to improve English language LISTENING, SPEAKING, READING, and WRITING skills and learn more about American cultural patterns. The program prepares students for the Academic Programs at the College and/or for transfer to four-year universities and colleges as well as for professional advancement.
Classes are offered in five levels of English-language proficiency, from Beginning to Advanced. Every course has a weekly lab, where students have access to audio, visual and computer technologies. Schedules can be arranged during the day, evening or on weekends. Please contact the Admissions Office for more information and admission into the program.
While students are enrolled in the ESL program, they may take selected courses which will prepare them for their professional goals.
The ESL faculty members are professionals who work with students to help them reach their goals. In addition, the staff at the Advisement Center (Center for Student Success Room A230) provides career and transfer counseling.
